Ajibola Abitoye, an unassuming global citizen of Nigerian origin based in Canada is running for Council in the City of Fort Saskatchewan.
Ajibola popularly known as Jibs is a passionate believer in public good with the interest of the general public in mind and with the goal of serving before leading.
She has a good track record of service to her community as she is presently the chair of the Fort Saskatchewan Multiculturalism Association. She had also served two years on the board of Family and Community Support Services as well as volunteered as cadet instructor for the Navy League Cadets in 2014.
A graduate of Economics from the University of Lagos in Nigeria , Jibs is eager to input fresh ideas coupled with a detailed level of prudence aimed at drastically reducing financial waste and becoming more accountable to tax payers. She is also passionate about engaging teams in achieving cohesive goals that would greatly benefit the community.
“I’m ready to do this because I love Fort Saskatchewan. I’ve lived in many parts of the world but I’ve never felt like I do here. It’s amazing. This is home. We’re raising a family here and it’s important for me to contribute to the growth and direction of the community. I want to make sure this city grows to be a city where my children and everyone’s children can thrive in. I want to be that positive force that moves this community forward.” She said.
Jibs is also eager to deploy her work history and experience as a certified project manager, a project cost controller with Dow Chemical and a financial advisor with CIBC to the benefit of her beloved community.
Council Election is fixed for Monday 16th October 2017.
